General Trip Policies and Guidelines

Reservations: All reservations must be made in advance by telephone or while on the bus during another trip. Many trips completely fill - Overnight reservations should be made at least 30 days before the trip departure date and daytrip reservations should be made at least 14 days prior to departure. Name, address, and telephone number is required for all reservations - birthdates are now required for all casino trip reservations. You may block off a number of seats for friends and family when making your reservation, however their names are required when calling in - their address, phone number and birthdate (for casino trips) must accompany the payment when it is sent in. Payment must be sent within 5 days of calling in AND SIGNING UP FOR A TRIP. All reservations are taken on a first call basis, with a reservation waiting list being created when the bus is full. If special bus seating or hotel room facilities are required, please give this information when calling in to make your reservation.

Payment: Full payment in advance is required for all reservations - overnight reservations should be paid at least 21 days prior to departure, daytrips should be paid at least 7 days prior to departure. Last minute reservations (if there is still any room on the bus) may be paid by check when boarding the bus. Payment may be made by credit card when the reservation is phoned in or by check (payable to Sunburst Tours) mailed to Sunburst Tours, 2828 Monticello Dr, Port Huron, Mi 48060. Be sure that your name and the trip being paid for accompany the check when it is mailed in. Overnight Trip Reservations remaining unpaid within 10 days of departure may be canceled by Sunburst.

Reservation Cancellation: Daytrip cancellations may receive full credit towards another trip if they are made at least 16 hours prior to departure of the trip. Overnight trip cancellations must be made at least 21 days (three weeks) prior to departure in order to be refunded or to receive credit towards another trip. Later overnight trip cancelations (within 20 days of departure) will be charged a cancellation fee ranging from $35 (per person) up to the full cost of the trip. However, if you find that you cannot go, you may "sell" your reservation to another person at any time and get all or part of your money back from that person (we must be notified who is taking your place if you do this). Most of the hotels these days are demanding full payment on group rooms 21 to 30 days out and many will not refund for any room cancellations. The only exception to our refund policy is if there is a death in the immediate family, in which case a full refund is always given. If you sign up for a trip, haven't paid, and don't show up, you may be charged a cancellation fee before you can go on another trip. Cruise and Tour Reservation Cancelation policies generally require more advance notice, depending on the particular Cruise or Tour you are registered for - these policies will be explained to you upon registration and are explained in the Cruise or Tour writeup.

Special Conditions: Passengers reserving for trips must be able to board the bus and get to their seats - we can assist you but we cannot carry or lift passengers onto to bus or to their seats. If you require 2 seats on the bus, a surcharge amounting to 65% of the cost of the trip will be charged. Food and drink are allowed on the bus, but smoking is not permitted (state law) - you may bring and consume alcoholic beverages on the bus as long as you don't become unruly (in which case you may be put off the bus) or sick to your stomach. Passengers requiring emergency medical treatment while on the bus will be dropped off at the nearest hospital, but the bus cannot wait for you or allow you to re-board the bus at a hospital. The bus cannot allow passengers to re-board from any other location other than that where they were dropped at. This includes passengers who go to the hospital from the hotel or a casino being visited - we cannot pick anyone up at the hospital or clinic. If you must go to a hospital or clinic for medical reason you must get back to the bus re-boarding location on your own.

Trip Cancellation by Sunburst: Overnight Trips are subject to cancelation by Sunburst up to 14 days prior to departure and Day Trips up to 5 days prior to departure - usually because insufficient persons have signed up to be elegible to recieve any casino packages offered (usually 30 or more passengers are required on the bus). Some trips may be cancelled at the last minute due to severe weather conditions. These canceled trips will be 100% refunded, or credit transferred to another trip. Sunburst Tours is not responsible for changes in trip itinerary or injury due to inclement weather, acts of God, breakdowns, or accidents during a trip. Sunburst Tours does not own or operate any of the suppliers of services or accommodations for your trip, as a result it is not responsible for any negligent or willful act or failure to act of any such supplier or of any other third party over whom Sunburst has no control. Casino incentive "packages" offered are provided and controlled by the casinos visited and are subject to change without notice.
